    Are computers the worst part of your job search?

    Come to our basic computer skills classes at the Job Lab on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am-noon.

    On Monday, a general workshop will include hands on assistance with any computer skills you are working on.

    On Wednesday, we will have three rotating classes available:

    Computer Basics

    • Mouse
    • Keyboard
    • Basic internet searches

    Microsoft Word Basics

    • Opening a document
    • Typing
    • Copying and Pasting
    • Changing the font and size of text
    • Saving and Save as

    Basic Email Course

    • Checking dierent folders
    • Opening emails
    • Sending emails
    • Replying, etc.
    • Attaching docs, etc.

    Looking for a job in customer service, hospitality, or janitorial and maintenance work? Our on-site hiring events are just for you! During each event, attendees will have an opportunity to get help with applications, hand their resumes to hiring managers, and ask questions about openings.     Become a Certified Nursing Assistant!

    East Side Neighborhood Services is beginning our FREE Nursing Assistant Plus Class in March! Participants will complete courses at Minneapolis College and East Side Neigh-borhood Services over 11 weeks. Classes are 4 days a week from 9am—3:30pm.

    North Memorial has shown investment in their community by partnering with East Side Neighborhood Services for this program. By providing resources, interview coaching sessions, and offering a pathway to employment at North Memorial, future nursing assistant students have an extra advantage once they receive their nursing assistant certification.

    Monday, January 14: 9-11 am
    Wednesday, January 16: 1-3 pm

    You will be asked to complete a TABE reading and math test at the information session, which usu-ally takes about an hour to complete.

    • 8th Grade Reading and Math Level
    • Able to fully commit your time for 11 weeks
    • Ability to pass a background check

    Come to our Minneapolis Employment and Training Information Sessions every week on Wednesday 2:30-4 pm and Friday 10 am-noon.

    Learn about the Minneapolis Employment and Training (MET) Program and other programs at East Side, complete intake paperwork, schedule a meeting with an employment counselor, and get your questions asked about our program.

    Sessions are open to the public and don’t require registration. To be eligible for MET you must be 18+, a Minneapolis resident, and be looking for 30+ hours of work per week.

    Please bring a valid form of ID/Social Security Card.

    We’re on a mission to make Minneapolis more dementia friendly! With funding from the MN Board on Aging, East Side is offering informational sessions providing key messages about dementia and tips on how to support those in the community living with memory loss.

    Join us Thursday, Feb 7th from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Trinity Apts, 2800 E 31st St., or Sunday, Feb 17th from 9am to 10am at Nativity Lutheran Church in Saint Anthony to become a Dementia Friend. All are welcome.

    Receive your OSHA-backed forklifting certification with this 3 day course from East Side Neighborhood Services. Through classroom and hands-on learning, participants will become experts in both the sit down and stand up forklift.
