Glendale Food Shelf

East Side opened the Glendale Food Shelf in 2009 in partnership with the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority (MPHA) and with additional support from Hennepin County, faith communities, businesses, and community organizations.

The Glendale Food Shelf is located within the Glendale Townhomes community in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Southeast Minneapolis. The food shelf is reserved for families living in the Glendale Townhomes community.

The Glendale Food Shelf provides a monthly allocation of 25 pounds of food for each person in a participating household. Participants can shop multiple times during the month until the total household food allocation is reached. Participants may choose from an assortment of fresh and packaged foods. We also supply a wide variety of culturally specific foods that are staples to the diets of the Glendale community members.
