Senior food shelf

The Senior Food Shelf has been dedicated to providing nutritious food to seniors since 1984. It provides about 20-25 pounds of nutritious food items to low-income older adults once a month. Non-food hygienic products are also provided as they become available.

  • Provides 2-3 day supply of nutritious food monthly
  • Additional nutrition supplements periodically as the become available.
  • No cost to participants

Interested in donating?

The primary source of our food donations come from direct donations: from individuals, retailers or food banks. Even though the food is donated, we do incur costs – whether it be handling fees or the cost of staff time and running costs for our van. We also purchase food items at wholesale prices. Your cash contributions help us leverage a lot of food for every dollar. For example, a donation of $5 can provide us with 250 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables from our food bank partner. We also pick up over 4,000 pounds of produce, bakery, meat and dairy donations nearly every week from nearby donors like Cub Foods and Target. Your donation of $60 covers the cost of staff time and fuel for the van for one whole week.
