East Side Neighborhood Services will host the 2012 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, December 11th at Shoreham Yards in Minneapolis. The donations from the event will support the food shelves of East Side Neighborhood Services.
Since 1999, Holiday Train has been collecting monetary and food donations for local food shelves and raising awareness for the fight against hunger. At each stop, the Holiday Train arrives decorated in bright lights with a box car stage, a line-up of great musical talent and a corporate contribution to a food bank in that area. This year’s musical talent will be The Claytones and Canadian Country Hall of Famer Tracey Brown.
This is a free, community event. Attendees are encouraged to bring a monetary or food donation for ESNS’ food shelves. The event will be held outdoors, so make sure to wear your warm winter clothing. Prior to the train’s arrival, there will be family activities and musical entertainment provided by the Northeast United Methodist Church. This is the only stop in Minneapolis, so don’t miss out on the 2012 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train at Shoreham Yards!
Shoreham Yards is located at 2800 Central Avenue NE. For more information about the 2012 Holiday Train and to see how you can help, visit www.esns.org/events or call East Side Neighborhood Services at 612.781.6011.
